1. Cylindrical Bin Foundations Design

The special design procedure has been developed to calculate foundations of cylindrical bins for grain or other bulk material storage. It allows reducing volume of concrete required for foundation manufacturing twice or even more.

«The diagram shows surface of the site and its outline graphic chart with 4 tanks, 10m in radius each, distance between tanks is 5m, and height of grain columns is 10m, 7m, 4m, 3m accordingly. Deformation modulus 25.106 Pa, Poisson’s ratio ½ g = 0.42 are applied for calculations. Load is calculated on the basis of grain density 780 kg/m3.

2. Steel Structures Design

The special design procedure is developed to calculate steel structures with the account of various loads. Calculation results are presented in a graphic form. Results of load calculations were applied to determine maximum height of support tower without application of tension members.

The diagram shows support tower layout. It consists of one lower section (type 0) and several sections of type 1,2 or 3.

The tower sections are of the same geometrical dimensions (excluding type 0), but differ in diameter and gauge of pipes. Support towers of various heights can be manufactured by combining various types of sections.

Microsoft Excel superstructure has been developed to design aeration systems. Initial data including grain bin parameters, air flow ratings, type of air ducts, etc. are selected from the worksheet range and calculations of geometrical specifications of piping, resistance to air flow and fan capacity are performed automatically.
